15 years of emptiness will be gone soon for a lonely building on the west side of South Bend.

Planet Fitness will be moving into the former Kmart at 4850 Western Ave. in mid-to-late December, according to the South Bend Tribune.

The “judgement free” workout facility will occupy almost all of the 26,000 square feet of space after remodeling. Construction is expected to begin soon, Planet Fitness regional manager Barney Storrs told the South Bend Tribune.

Planet Fitness carters to people that might feel intimidated by a usual gym experience.
