Mishawaka residents are invited to attend one of several upcoming town hall meetings hosted by supporters of the Mishawaka schools referendum.

The political action committee, “Our Children, Your Future” which is comprised of Mishawaka parents, property owners and community leaders, is working to inform citizens throughout the city about the critical needs of the city’s school system.

Unfortunately, no one attended the meeting this week due to apparent miscommunication with the public, according to the South Bend Tribune.

The meetings are meant to give residents a chance to learn about the upcoming referendum, what it means to them as community members and what it means to the future, according to organizers.

Each meeting will have a short explanation of the referendum, a showcase of the referendum questions that will appear on the November ballot and a question and answer period.

The next meeting is set for 7 p.m. Friday at St. Bavo Catholic Church on 7th Street.

Here’s a complete schedule of upcoming public meetings:

  • September 21, 7 pm: Mishawaka Fire Station #4, 3000 Harrison Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46544
  • September 29, 6 pm: Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library, 209 Lincolnway E, Mishawaka, IN 46544
  • October 12, 6:30 pm: Albright United Methodist Church, 504 W Mishawaka Ave, Mishawaka, IN 46545
