Gunfire reported in two separate incidents in Elkhart

The Elkhart Police Department continues to investigate two reports of gunfire over the weekend.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire around noon Friday to a home in the 500 block of West Marion Street, according to the Elkhart Truth.

A man living at the home told police he heard the shots earlier that morning. Then, he discovered damage to the front door, siding and an interior wall.

The next report of gunfire was just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Police responded to a call of shots in the 1200 block of West Lexington Avenue, according to the Elkhart Truth.

Police collected three shell casings from the scene, but could not find damage. There were also no reports of injuries.
