INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Ivy Tech Community College is hosting a gathering next week for former ITT Technical Institute students and staff dealing with the for-profit college chain’s closure.

Representatives from Ivy Tech and several other schools, including Indiana Wesleyan University and Grace College, will be at the Sept. 28 event at Ivy Tech’s Illinois Fall Creek Center in Indianapolis. They’ll join financial advisers and veterans’ services officials in meeting with ITT students to discuss their possible next steps in education.

Ivy Tech Community College President Sue Ellspermann says the participants recognize that “we cannot let these students fall through the cracks” following ITT’s recent closure.

EmployIndy and human resource officials from the schools also will be on hand to assist former ITT staffers seeking employment.
