The man accused of shooting and wounding Terrance Harris in June of this year has been arraigned in St. Joe County Court.

Marshaum Givens was arrested in Houston, Texas last month. Prosecutors say it was back in June when he allegedly shot Harris at an apartment in the 900 block of Patty Lane on the east side of South Bend.

Harris was dating a woman who used to date a friend of Givens. Givens and the friend followed the couple to the apartment, where Harris and the ex-boyfriend started talking.

That’s when prosecutors say Givens walked up, pulled out a gun, and fired multiple shots at Harris. Givens allegedly shot him two more times after he fell, and Harris played dead until they left.

The next hearing for Givens will be in late October.
