A pair of Benton Harbor men were arrested on a number of drug and weapon charges Wednesday morning.
Berrien County deputies and officers from the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety raided a home on Columbus Avenue around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday.
37-year-old Zachary Jawan Poole and 28-year-old Travis Chantel Hampton, both of Benton Harbor, were arrested and charged with the following:
Zachary Jawan Poole, 37 year old male, Benton Harbor Resident.
#1: Possession with intent to Deliver Heroin 2nd Offense.
#2: Maintaining a Drug House 2nd Offense.
#3: 3 Counts of Felon in Possession of a firearm.
#4: Possession of a Firearm with an altered serial number.
#5: Possession with intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine 2nd Offense.
#6: Controlled Substance – Violation (1000 Feet of an Active School).
Travis Chantel Hampton, 28 year old male, Benton Harbor Resident.
#1: Possession with intent to Deliver Heroin 2nd Offense.
#2: Possession with intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine 2nd Offense.
#3: Maintaining a Drug House 2nd Offense.
#4: 3 Counts of Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
#5: Controlled Substance – Violation (1000 Feet of an Active School).
Around 92 grams of heroin were seized, along with about 188 grams of crack cocaine. The drugs had a street value of almost $30,000.
Three loaded pistols were seized, along with almost $400 in cash, several cell phones, and two vehicles.
