Over 13 pounds of methamphetamine was confiscated Wednesday morning when officers from multiple agencies raided Elkhart County properties.
Ten homes were raided by 100 law enforcement officers at about 6 a.m. Wednesday. In addition to the drugs, more than $30,000 in cash was confiscated, according to Elkhart County Prosecutor Curtis Hill.
The raids targeted the Jaquez drug ring and resulted in about a dozen arrests. Eight of the raids took place in the city of Elkhart, two in the county. Hill says the raids varied from residence to businesses, and that the people arrested were also dealing in weapons.
There have been over two-dozen arrests made in the past year from this drug ring.
“We’re never done,” Hill said when asked if there was going to be more arrests. “These people are done. But we’re going to keep looking for more people.”
