An Illinois-based logistics company is adding by subtracting in northern Indiana.

Moran Transportation Corp. is buying a vacant terminal at 28250 C.R. 20 in Elkhart, according to the Elkhart Truth.

At least 15 new jobs are expected to be created. However, that number is in a bit of flux because it depends on how many employees come up from its Warsaw facility. Moran is closing the Warsaw facility and has offered 25 employees there the opportunity to move north. In total, the company will employ between 35 and 40 employees and house over 30 semitrailers.

The move allows the company better access to northern Indiana, including Fort Wayne. A spokesman says this area is the company’s fastest growing market. Moran also has three terminals in Illinois and one each in Minneapolis, St. Louis, and Indianapolis.

A company spokesman says the company plans on investing in new technology at the facility before it moves in. In the meantime, they are hiring.
