Three local projects will share in the recent Regional Cities Initiative grants.

Those projects will be funded to the tune of nearly $2 million, according to the South Bend Tribune.

One project will help Apex Climbing move into the old College Football Hall of Fame building, either with or instead of JSK Development. JSK is building a new hotel next door.

The former Studebaker assembly plant will be re-developed into a mixed-use technology center. And the old Hotel Elkhart will become a mixed-use development — with retail and commercial space, housing, and a boutique hotel.

About $40.4 million of the $42 million that Regional Cities of Northern Indiana has been allocated, according to the South Bend Tribune.
