A fire kept firefighters in Elkhart busy early Wednesday morning.

The fire engulfed the home around 3:30 a.m. at a home in the 25,000 block of North Park Avenue, between Johnson Street and Osolo Road.

Nobody was home at the time the fire broke out. The home is believed to have been vacant for a few months.

Osolo Township firefighters needed help from Elkhart city firefighters and Porter Township firefighters to put out the blaze. No one was injured. The fire took about three hours to put out.

The cause is being investigated.
