The roads will be busy this holiday season.

AAA Hoosier Motor Club predicts that nearly 980,000 travelers will hit Indiana roads this Thanksgiving and the Indiana Department of Transportation is reminding Hoosiers to plan for extra time on the road.

Most highway construction projects will stop during the holiday weekend in hopes to increase safety.

More than 250 state and local law enforcement agencies will conduct patrols. Motorists are asked to drive sober and to buckle up.

In November 2015, there were 533 alcohol-related crash in Indiana. In those crashes, 220 people were injured and seven people died.
