An Elkhart man is in custody, charged with murder after a Goshen man’s body was found in the Kingsbury Fish and Wildlife Area Friday.

Scotty R. Irvin, 41, has been arrested and is in custody at the Elkhart County Jail, according to the Goshen Police Department and LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department.

41-year-old Mark Huber’s girlfriend told police last Tuesday that she had not heard from him and that it was unusual for him. Huber was found on Friday, dead of a single gunshot wound to the head and lying in a sewer line that was concealed by a manhole cover, according to police.

Investigators say that Irvin was known to Huber and that the murder wasn’t a random act. They didn’t give any further details into their relationship.
