A brawl has led to three arrests, a man knocked unconscious and a woman in the hospital.

Elkhart Police responded to the 1200 block of Georgia Blvd. a little after 2 a.m. Sunday after getting a report of a fight, according to ABC 57.

It started when Cameron Mendez, 26, and a woman got into an argument. The situation escalated and Mendez started choking the woman, according to police.

Another man reportedly tried to separate the two, but that led to Tyler Alvarez, 21, knocking the man unconscious. Mendez, Alvarez, and 18-year-old Jordan Alvarez then started beating on the man, waking him up in the process.

Jordan Alvarez fled on foot, but was arrested nearby. The other two got in a car and hit the woman with the car on the way out, according to police. They were arrested after returning to the scene.

The woman was so injured, she wasn’t able to talk to police and had to be taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.
