Westville Correctional Facility officer accused of trafficking contraband

A corrections officer allegedly showed up to work with things he shouldn’t have had and he was put behind bars himself.

Michael Campbell, 21, of Michigan City was arrested when he arrived to work Tuesday, according to the South Bend Tribune.

He was stopped and questioned when he arrived to work. He was also searched and found to be in possession of contraband, according to the Indiana Department of Corrections.

It’s not known if Campbell was involved with anyone else. An investigation is underway.

Campbell is charged with trafficking a controlled substance and official misconduct.
