Police: Elkhart County man evades arrest, survives taser, and head-butts officer

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and the mugshot for an Elkhart County man arrested Thursday tells quite the story.

Elkhart County deputies say William Elijah was under the influence of methamphetamine Thursday at about 10:45 p.m, according to the Elkhart Truth.

When officers responded to a domestic violence report on the 30000 block of Chevy Chase Lane, which is near the Indiana-Michigan line, Elijah ran away. Police found him, he was hit was a taser, and then he ran away again.

After breaking into a home, police went to arrest him, and he started fighting with officers, head-butting one of them in the process.

He was initally taken to the hospital with an arm injury along iwth numerous cuts and bruises, but is now in the Elkhart County Correctional Facility with no bond.
