One man has been arrested, another is recovering from serious head injuries after a fight on East Jackson Boulevard in Elkhart.

The victim wasn’t part of the group engaged in battle, early Saturday morning, in the 500 block of East Jackson, but rather, was trying to get people to leave the area, according to the Elkhart Truth.

That’s when police say 27-year-old Justin Brown of Elkhart attacked him, leaving him unconscious. Brown then took off from the scene.

Police caught up with him late Monday morning and arrested him on a preliminary charge of aggravated battery.
