Pete Buttigieg to decide “within 10 days” on DNC chair post

(Krystal Vivian/95.3 MNC)

We could finally answer a burning question in Michiana and national politics this time next week.

South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg is expected to decide within the next 10 days on whether or not he’ll seek the Democratic National Committee‘s chairman position, according to Politico.

If he were to defeat the five other candidates running for the position, Buttigieg says he would step down as Mayor of South Bend.

A series of candidate forums will begin on Jan. 13:

  • January 13-14th in Phoenix, AZ
  • January 27th- 28th in Houston, TX
  • February 3rd-4th in Detroit, MI
  • February 10th-11th in Baltimore, MD

The party will pick the next DNC chairman in February.
