The Elkhart City Controller is stepping down for new role in the Indianapolis area.

Jeff Spalding has served as the chief financial officer for the city of Elkhart since January 2016. While this was not an easy decision to make, this new opportunity will allow him to be closer to his family, according to Elkhart Mayor Tim Neese.

“Jeff has been an invaluable part of my administration,” Neese said. “I completely understand his decision and appreciate his willingness to assist throughout the transition process. I am grateful for his service to our community and wish him well.”

Spalding’s last day with the city of Elkhart will be Friday, Feb. 24, according to Mayor Neese.

An announcement will be made when a replacement is selected by the mayor.
