A buyer has stepped up to take control of the Blackthorn Corporate Park in South Bend.

City leaders have reached an agreement with Mishawaka-based Newmark, Grubb, Cressy & Everett for $175,000, effectively ending the city’s 20-year involvement with the park, according to WSBT.

The real estate firm assumes control of 11 parcels of land and 32 total acres. It was expected to be approved by the Redevelopment Commission Thursday.

Half of the lots on the property are currently not in use, and new activity is anticipated.
