Man arraigned after deadly crash, police pursuit on State Road 933

The man accused of causing a deadly crash at State Road 933 and Darden Road has been arraigned.

James Morrison, 39, is charged with causing death and causing serious bodily injury while operating a motor vehicle while using a controlled substance and resisting law enforcement.

Morrison was being pursued by police from Berrien County on Tuesday, Feb. 21, and was driving at speeds of 80 to 100 miles per hour when the crash happened.

Andre Northern, 62, of South Bend, was in a pick-up truck that was struck by Morrison’s vehicle. Northern died at the scene.
