Misunderstanding leads to Washington High School lockout

A school in South Bend was on lockout Monday morning, but it turned out to be one big misunderstanding.

School officials locked out Washington High School after receiving word of a Facebook threat. However, Principal Byron Sanders says the lockout was later lifted after the threat mistook the school for one in Washington state, according to ABC 57.

After making some calls, Sanders confirmed the posting came from a student in Tacoma, Washington.

The school operated normally while the lockout was in effect. Four South Bend Police Department squad cars were parked in front of the school during the lockout.
