The 169th Indiana State Fair wrapped up more than a week ago after 15 days of rides, concerts, food, competitions and family activities that brought Hoosiers together from across the state.

Fair officials report that 800,461 people attended the 2026 Indiana State Fair, continuing the event’s tradition of attracting large crowds each summer.

The Fair’s final week was its strongest since Indiana adopted the three-weekend format in 2009. Attendance records were set during the final week, while Sunday, August 23, drew the second-highest attendance for a final day since the three-weekend format began.

The newly renovated Hoosier Lottery Free Stage also drew record crowds throughout the Fair. An estimated 9,000 people attended the August 9 performance by Josiah Queen, making it the largest crowd in the history of the Free Stage.

Severe weather also affected the Fair during its 15-day run, with five days involving gate closures and shelter-in-place measures.

The Indiana State Fair will return in 2027 for its 170th edition. The Fair is scheduled for August 6 through August 22, 2027.
