Judge sides with Freedom From Religion Foundation in case against Concord nativity scene

(Sam Householder/Elkhart Truth)

The lawsuit over Concord High School’s annual Christmas show is over as a federal judge has issued a final ruling against the school system.

The ruling, issued Monday, March 6, states the 2014 and planned 2015 versions of Concord Community Schools‘ annual Christmas Spectacular program violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

The ruling is a victory for the Freedom From Religion Foundation, which sued the school system in 2015 claiming the program endorsed Christianity, the Elkhart Truth reported.

The school system was ordered to pay $7 to one anonymous plaintiff and $1 each to three others, the Elkhart Truth reported.

Read more about the ruling from The Elkhart Truth.

Speak up silent majority!!! Take back the USA March 7, 2017 at 8:40 am

Why do we continue to put these liberal anti-American judges in a position to completely fabricate a ruling based on their “opinion” of our constitution? Anyone that reads the amendment that is used to keep church and state separate can easily understand this is not what it is about.
1st amendment: Religion and Expression. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech…No where will you find “separation from church and State because it does not exist. How can a judge render an opinion that a Christmas play violates the 1st amendment when the amendment clearly reads “shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”? This country is being taken over with the help of these idiot judges and anti American organizations like the ACLU…The ACLU was put in place in this country by the Soviets but we just keep on letting them represent .0000000001% of our people and getting there way with these idiot judges…

All judges should be elected-not appointed! March 7, 2017 at 9:18 am

Shocking that US district court judge Jon Deguilio was appointed by the communist Obama and confirmed by the liberal politicians of his regime in 2010 by a “voice” call in vote. Obama will haunt this country for years to come just like the Taliban still does. All judges should be elected by the “citizens” they supposedly work for, not be appointed by a part time communist President that hates America and would rather golf than work. I wonder if Jon Deguilio has bothered to actually read our constitution and amendments? It surely is not a requirement before you render “opinions” I guess.
