After 33 years, one of the most respected coaches in high school basketball in our area is stepping down.

Mark Johnson has informed Riley High School officials that he’s retiring after a record of 246-130 at the school, according to the South Bend Tribune.

He has a career mark of 439-325, including a sectional title earned with his time at LaSalle and another five at Riley, as well as two regional titles. Johnson also coached in Fort Wayne.
