Niles council members approve step toward medical marijuana shops

Niles City Council members have taken a step toward allowing medical marijuana shops in the city by approving a resolution to develop an ordinance that would allow such facilities.

Appearing on 95.3 MNC ahead of Monday’s vote, Niles Mayor Nick Shelton said after two public hearings, one thing was clear, and that is the vast majority of people who attended the meetings support medical marijuana.

Seven council members voted in favor of the step forward. Only one member was opposed.

Buchanan has also approved a measure to allow dispensaries, as well.
