A new data portal has been set up by the South Bend Police Department.

The new transparency hub, launched Wednesday, is designed to provide residents with access to information and interactive tools about the department, according to a press release from the city.

It’s part of the department and the city’s commitment to bring transparency and accountability. The site provides interactive crime maps, documents, and other information designed to encourage conversation about public safety, and is expected to expand in the future.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg attended the debut and stressed the importance of building community trust.

Here’s a link to the transparency hub.
