It certainly was music to her ears.

Longtime music teacher and orchestra director Anne Tschetter was surprised with the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corp. teacher of the year award for 2017.

Tschetter is in her first year teaching full-time at Penn High School. She spent six years teaching part-time at Penn High School, but came over full-time from Discovery Middle School last year, where she spent 20 years as a teacher and orchestra director.

Penn Fine Arts Academy director Glenn Northern nominated Tschetter.

P-H-M Superintendent Jerry Thacker and Penn High School Principal Steve Hope surprised Tschetter with the announcement, which you can watch below.

Last week, Meadow’s Edge Elementary aide Shari Cerney was named P-H-M’s “Employee of the Year.”
