A crash proved fatal Thursday morning as a female pedestrian was struck by a delivery truck.

Mayflower Road was closed near Belleville Drive and the U.S. 20 bypass for much of the morning Thursday after the crash, which happened around around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, after an initial call of a white female walking in and out of traffic, according to ABC 57 and South Bend Police.

The woman, 25-year-old Jullianne Kinder of South Bend, was struck by a Frito Lay delivery truck driven by a 62-year-old South Bend man.

The investigation is underway.
