Mishawaka officials patching up damaged liner at Merrifield Pool

The process of repairing vandalism damage to a Mishawaka public pool is underway.

Crews began attempting patch repairs to the damaged liner Monday, according to the South Bend Tribune.

Vandals caused up to $300,000 in damages to the pool at Merrifield Park by cutting holes in the liner.

If the patch effort is unsuccessful, the parks department will have to consider replacing the liner, which would cost $300,000. That’s something that was previously dismissed as an option by Mishawaka Parks Superintendent Phil Blasko.
