Click It or Ticket seatbelt campaign begins in Indiana

If you notice more police on the roads over the weekend, there’s a reason for that.

The Indiana State Police is participating in the statewide Click it or Ticket seat belt enforcement campaign until June 4.

More than 250 law enforcement agencies throughout Indiana will be conducting patrols throughout the campaign, encouraging drivers and their passengers to buckle up

Last year, 827 people died in crashes on Indiana roadways. Police say a little more than a third of those deaths were due to people not wearing a seat belt, and could have been avoided.

Bull hockey. All of us know it’s a revenue generator masquerading as a safety initiative. Thanks, Politicians.

Yeah, they treat all safety issues as revenue generators. Not as bad as some states (I’m looking at you MD) but still just a random tax for driving justified by not having dotted all your i’s.

Disclaimer: I wear a seat belt all the time I drive. I don’t necessarily think it’s a nanny state responsibility though.
