“James Bond” actor Sir Roger Moore passes away at the age of 89

One of the most noteable James Bonds in that series’ history has passed away.

Sir Roger Moore’s family announced that Moore died at the age of 89 Tuesday. Here’s their complete statement:

Moore was the third actor to play James Bond, following Sean Connery and George Lazenby. He went on to portray Bond in seven films, starting with Live and Let Die in 1972 and ending with A View to Kill in 1985.

The Associated Press is reporting that Moore had cancer before his death.
