Indiana Toll Road re-opening some lanes in time for Memorial Day weekend

The Indiana Toll Road is planning to open 20 miles of the highway that have been under construction this Memorial Day weekend.

Indiana Toll Road Concession Co. Chief Executive Office Nic Barr says they’ve worked hard to make this happen.

“As we prepare to commemorate Memorial Day and welcome the start of summer travel season, we’ve worked hard to reopen these 20 miles of roadway and two interchanges for our customers.”

Over the past two-and-a-half months, the Toll Road says it has repaved 75 lane-miles of road and reconstructed six interchanges, according to WNDU.

Repairs are part of the 80/90 PUSH construction project. The project aims to reconstruct a total of 73-miles and improve multiple overpasses.

The 80/90 PUSH construction project is forecast to be completed by the end of this summer.

Exit 72 has also re-opened.

If you have driven on the “toll road” lately you would agree they should pay us to drive on it. Why can they charge a full toll when only 1/2 the road is kind of usable? I went to Chicago last week the way we used to go. No toll roads. What a pleasurable trip. The roads were in great shape as well. With all of the construction on the “toll road” it would have taken longer to go that way.
