The fake $100 “for motion picture use only” bills have apparently arrived in South Bend.

Officers arrested 20-year-old Malik Gardner Wednesday after he allegedly tried to use the fake bills to buy items from a social media sale.

The fake money has been in the region the last few months. Police in Dowagiac warned people about the fake bills making their way through the community earlier in the week.

South Bend officers encourage you to make sure the cash you receive in online sales is legitimate. They even have parking spaces at the police department building designated just for social media sales swaps that are monitored by cameras 24/7.
