Man stabbed, then arrested, after apparent domestic incident in South Bend

A man was stabbed, and then arrested, after an apparent domestic assault in South Bend.

Police were called to South 26th Street on Saturday afternoon, May 27.

Cortez Smith, 26, was stabbed multiple times by his girlfriend, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The stabbing appeared to be in self-defense after an argument turned physical, authorities told ABC 57.

Cortez’s girlfriend was also treated for injuries.

Cortez was arrested on preliminary domestic battery charges.
