Cass County police searching for vehicle involved in hit-and-run on U.S. 12

Police in Cass County are searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash which injured a motorcyclist.

The crash happened around noon on Wednesday on U-S 12, west of M-217 in Porter Township.

The 19-year-old Elkhart man on the motorcycle crashed into the back of the vehicle which took off from the scene, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Despite his injuries, the victim was able to contact police, the sheriff’s office stated.

The other vehicle involved in the collision is described as being a 4-door beige-colored Ford with a Michigan license plate with a female driver, according to the sheriff’s office.
