Explosion forces evacuation at Bremen Castings plant

An explosion was reported Thursday morning at Bremen Castings.

Luckily, it resulted in no injuries, but it did force an evacuation at the facility at 500 North Baltimore St., according to WNDU.

The blast happened around 8:30 Thursday morning. According to police, the blast was caused by a problem with a Cupola, with the potential for a second explosion prompting officials to clear the area and shut down nearby roads.

The employees were evacuated with no injuries reported, and the situation is being monitored by first responders.
