LaPorte County man accused of making homemade explosives transferred from Texas

An accused bomb maker out of LaPorte County has returned to Indiana to be tried in court.

Robert Ofcky is accused of making and possessing homemade explosives at his rural LaPorte County home in 2014, according to ABC 57.

A grand jury indicted him in June of 2014, but he had fled to Texas. He was caught in March of this year.

According to court documents, he has been charged with two counts of possessing a destructive device, manufacturing of a destructive device, and possession of a firearm.

Ofcky was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail without a bond.

Need more info on the ‘possession of a firearm’ charge. Was he a felon?

Thanks! Not confused anymore. He was not a proper person and should not have had access to firearms…or explosives!
