Two people died after a car collided with a Frito Lay truck on Day Road in Mishawaka.

The crash happened around 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, at Day Road at Felicity Drive.

A Pontiac driven by Nancy Pierson, 21, was traveling westbound on Day when Pierson lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line and crashed into the truck, according to officers with the St. Joseph County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team.

A passenger in the Pontiac, Anthony Willocks, 17, of South Bend, died at the scene. Pierson was taken to the hospital in serious condition and later died, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
