10 people cited in underage drinking party raid in New Paris

More than a dozen people are in trouble with police after a raid on an underage drinking party.

Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department were called to a home in the 18000 block of County Road 48 in New Paris on Sunday, June 11.

Upon arrival, officers found more than a dozen minors consuming alcoholic beverages, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

There were 13 individuals found to be under the age of 21. Three were under the age of 18 and released to their parents, while the remaining 10 individuals that were over the age of 18 but under the age of 21, were issued tickets for illegal consumption of alcoholic beverages, and released at the scene, the sheriff’s department reported.

Those cited and released were Tyler Reith, 20, of Syracuse, Draven Reith, 18, of Syracuse, Keenan Baker, 18, Goshen, Ryan Price, 19, of Nappanee, Myron Borkholder, 19, of Nappanee, Gracen Balser, 18, of Syracuse, Roberto Hernandez, 18, of Goshen, Zachary Smallwood, 18, of Goshen, Alexis Young, 18, of Cromwell, and Stephanie Salazar, 18, of New Paris.

Dewayne Miller, 41, of New Paris was cited and released for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
