Southwestern Michigan residents can now hail an Uber.

The ride-sharing app is launching services in the St. Joseph and Benton Harbor areas Friday in an expansion of Kalamazoo area services. The expansion will serve the I-94 corridor and will run along the lake shore from New Buffalo to South Haven, according to the Harold-Palladium.

At 1 p.m. local time, both the basic ride-sharing product UberX and UberXL, for larger parties, will become available.

The expansion comes after Michigan passed legislation regulating the ride-sharing industry in the state.

For a free ride up to $15, use the code LAKEMI17 in the Uber app.
