Two 17-year-old Michiana girls were killed and two other people were injured in a four-vehicle crash on US 30.

The collision happened around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 19, just west of County Road 450 East near Warsaw, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

The crash occurred when a car driven by Kirsten Ganshorn tried to pass a pickup. She clipped the truck, sending both vehicles into the median.

Ganshorn’s vehicle spun out-of-control and crossed the median backwards, slamming into a flatbed truck.

Ganshorn was ejected from her car and onto the roadway, while the flatbed ended up going into the path of an SUV.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ashley Demont of Argos was rushed to the hospital where she later died.

A 49-year-old Larwill man remains hospitalized with critical injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
