Could Mishawaka become a hub for electric vehicle manufacturing?
It might, as AM General has agreed to sell its commercial assembly plant in Mishawaka to a Chinese startup company, according to the South Bend Tribune. SF Motors has its American headquarters in Silicon Valley and makes electric vehicles. It’s owned by China-based Chongqing Sokon Industry Group.
The purchase includes the land, plant, and certain manufacturing equipment, according to the South Bend Tribune, will not impact AM General’s military assembly plant or related business. Sokon also is pledging to make $30 million in improvements at the Mishawaka facility.
SF Moters says it plans on retaining all of the plant’s approximate 430 employees after a period of retooling. Those jobs could have been lost when AM General lost its final remaining commercial contract later this year.
No word on how much the purchase price was. The purchase is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.

You can’t have fair trade with a Communist government. They don’t have to make a profit, pay their employees, or worry about the environment. If you complain you die.
