INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Authorities say an argument between two Indianapolis-area neighbors, including one riding a lawnmower, escalated into across-the-fence gunfire.

A video provided by the Johnson County prosecutor’s office shows the two trading insults June 27 before 59-year-old Jeffrey S. Weigle — apparently cutting grass at the time — pulls out a handgun. The video then shows 49-year-old Indianapolis firefighter Dean Keller fire his gun and Weigle returning fire.

A police report says Weigle suffered a chest wound. Keller wasn’t injured.

The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/2tIzceM ) that Johnson County Prosecutor Brad Cooper said Wednesday Keller won’t be charged in the shooting in Greenwood.

Cooper says “it was reasonable for Keller to believe deadly force was necessary to prevent serious bodily injury.”

Cooper said charges against Weigle will be determined once he recovers.

Come on people! July 10, 2017 at 3:08 pm

Someone must have expected trouble for their to be a camera in the grass…and what the heck people, guns aren’t props to be used as arguing points.

If you’re having problems with a neighbor call the sheriff…if you’re the one at fault cut it out already. Sheesh.
