It was a cardiac arrest.

That’s what Michigan State Police say killed a man in a rollover crash Thursday just north of the Indiana-Michigan border. The crash happened about 1:45 p.m. about a mile north of the border on U.S. 31.

71-year-old James Harr Panos had to be extricated from his vehicle. However, police say that he went into cardiac arrest while he was being removed from the vehicle. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Speed is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
