Abused dog found in South Bend with gunshot wound in mouth euthanized

A sad update about the dog that was found with a gunshot wound in South Bend on Saturday.

The dog was located near Medora, Wilber, Anderson and King streets by multiple people. ABC 57 reports it had been shot in the mouth and the bullet had lodged in the animal’s shoulder.

South Bend Animal Care and Control says the dog had to be euthanized due to the extent of her injuries.

South Bend Police are still looking for information about the dog’s owner, or anything the public knows about the dog. A police report was filed in the incident.

Sat early or late? Unfortunate occurrence to a pet or a pit bull being used as gang enforcement and abandoned after a drug deal gone bad? I hope they find the owners…
