The South Bend Cubs are remembering the past and present while the build towards the future.

Behind the scoreboard in right field at Four Winds Field is Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. It’s been a part of the community for decades and reecntly found itself in need of help.

ABC 57 reports that they needed thousands of dollars to repair things like a leaky roof and broken sidewalk. They also used to offer a free monthly breakfast for the community until a break-in happened.

As The Ivy at Berlin Place takes shape, the Cubs have stepped in to give the church $30,000 for those repairs. They are also teaming up with the church to host a free breakfast on August 12th at 9 a.m. at Four Winds Field.
