An Indiana State Trooper’s quest for school bus safety continues.

Trooper Jim Zeser has been lobbying for years to get signs installed along Elkhart County roads. Those signs read “All lanes STOP when school bus stops.”

He was able to get those signs installed along U.S. 33 in Dunlap and along Hively Avenue between Benham and Main Streets in Elkhart.

More recently, U.S. 20 in Middlebury was widened to four lanes and Zeser noticed traffic going both ways wasn’t stopping for students.

In response, INDOT installed four signs on U.S. 20 between County Road 17 and State Road 15, along with additional fluroescent signs with a school bus on it.
