Fire during bee extermination damages Niles’ Elks Lodge building

One day after a Dowagiac man accidentally set himself on fire while trying to eradicate a bee hive, fire crews were called to the Elks Lodge in Niles because of another fire that started after someone tried to exterminate bees.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10.

Damage was contained to the exterior of the building on Canal Street, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.
