A school bus was involved in a crash in LaGrange County Thursday morning.

No kids were on the bus when it was involved in the crash, which happened at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday on State Road 5 north of Shipshewana.

Police say a woman riding a bike was stopped and positioned to turn when she was hit by a van. Part of the bike then clipped a Westview school bus going the other way.

The woman on the bicycle was airlifted with serious injuries. She was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the van was also taken to a hospital to be checked out.

Again, there were no children on the bus and the driver wasn’t hurt.
