A woman was severely injured after driving her car into a tree.

The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. Monday on North 5th Street a little south of Pucker Street north of Niles.

A 43-year-old Dowagiac woman had to be flown to Memorial Hosptial in South Bend for treatment. Police aren’t saying whether alcohol or speed were factors as the investigation continues.
